Jarrell Miller also known as “Big Baby” is an American professional boxer who competes in the Heavyweight division. He is currently ranked sixth best active heavyweight by Boxrec and ninth by The Ring Magazine.

Early Life

Miller was born on July 15, 1988, in Brooklyn, New York. He learned Muay Thai when he was 14 years old to defend himself after being bullied on the street. He started boxing at the age of 16 and learned from some of the biggest names like Mike Tyson and Riddick Bowe.

As an amateur, he reached the final of the 2007 New York Golden Gloves Heavyweight tournament at the Madison Square Tournament but lost to Tor Hamer. He had an amateur record of 10-1, with 7 wins came by KO.

Miller made his professional boxing debut at the age of 21 on July 18, 2009, against 36-year-old Darius Whitson. He won the fight by TKO in the first round. His second fight came two years later against Isaac Villanueva where he defeated him via third-round TKO.

He took 11 months break and on April 21, 2012, he returned to the ring in a match against Donnie Crawford. He defeated Crawford via TKO within 2 minutes and 38 seconds of round one. The same year, he defeated 36-year-old Tyrone Gibson.

On January 19, 2013, Miller came up against then 22-year-old Joey Dawejko. The fight went full four rounds and was ruled as a draw on all scorecards 37-37, 3 times. Since then, he has competed against opponents like Willie Chisolm, Jon Hill, Joshua Harris, Rodricka Ray, Aaron Kinch, Raymond Ochieng, Damon McCreary, Akhror Muralimov and hasn’t lost a single fight.

On January 22, 2016, he won interim WBA-NABA heavyweight title defeating Donovan Dennis via TKO and retained the title defeating Fred Kassi seven months later. Miller continued his winning streak defeating opponents like Gerald Washington, Maruisz Wach, Johann Duhaupas, Tomasz Adamek and Bogdan Dinu.

As of April 16, 2019, Miller hasn’t lost a single match. In 24 fights he has won 23 and 1 draws with 20 coming via TKO. He is now set to fight against Anthony Joshua for WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles.
