Who is Paige Halstead?
Paige Halstead is an American softball player for the UCLA Bruins.
Early Life
Halstead was born on April 17, 1997, in California to parents Mari and Ed Halstead. She has two older brothers named Josh and Ryan whom she considers to be her inspiration.
Halstead attended Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga. She played four-year varsity softball and was three times CIF and Baseline League First team honoree. She was also a three-time Los Osos Offensive Player of the Year and a team captain. Halstead helped her team to three consecutive league titles from 2012 to 2014.
Paige was also included in 2015 Junior Women’s National Team, taking part in the World Cup of Softball in July and the WBSC Junior Women’s World Championship in August 2015. She won the gold medal at the World Championship playing in four games.
Career
After her high school, she joined UCLA because of the academic and athletic opportunity that would give her the chance for success, competition and her future. She signed with the UCLA Bruins in 2016, where she is currently a senior.
In 2016, she was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. The same year, she was also a member of the gold-medal winning USA Softball Women’s National Team at the WSBC World Championship. In 2017, Halstead was once again included in the Team USA for the third time in a row. She played in three games at the World Cup of Softball, where she helped the U.S. to win a silver medal.
