Rowan Alexander Barrett Jr. shortly known as RJ Barrett is a Canadian basketball player who currently plays for the Duke Blue Devils of the Atlantic Coast Conference. He is considered as one of the future stars on the NBA.
RJ Barrett Career:
Born on June 14, 2000, in Toronto, Ontario, Barrett attended Ecole Secondaire Jeunes Sans Frontieres; a French school in Ontario until 2014. He then went to St. Marcellinus Secondary School where he started playing basketball.
He was very focused on basketball and eventually decided to move to Florida. Upon arriving there, he went to Montverde Academy where he earned MVP honors at the 2016 Jordan Brand Classic International Game after scoring 22 points and eight assists in the match.
Barrett was a member of the World Select Team at the 2017 Nike Hoop Summit, netting nine points in 20 minutes. According to his manager, ‘RJ is a potential superstar down the road’. He received scholarships from universities like Arizona, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, UCLA and many more.
After narrowing to five schools (Duke, Arizona, Oregon, Kentucky, and Michigan) from several universities, he decided he would be attending Duke for the 2018-19 season.
On his International side, he became the youngest player on Canada’s under-16 national team that won the silver at the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Championship. In 2016 FIBA U17 World Cup, he averaged 18.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. The same year, he made headlines after he helped Canada under-19 team to a 99-87 semifinal win over the US at FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup. He scored 38 point, 13 rebound and 5 assists in that single match.

Who are RJ Barrett’s Parents?
RJ Barrett was born to Rowan Barrett and Kesha Barrett. His father Rowan played college basketball at St. John’s University and then played his professional career in Europe. Rowan Barrett also represented Canada’s Men National team at the 2000 Olympic Games and the 1998 and 2002 FIBA World Championships. His mother Kesha was a sprinter on St. John’s track and field team.
