Who is David Irving?
David Irving is an American football defensive tackle who played for Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL.
Early Life and College Career
Born on August 18, 1993, in Compton, California, David went to San Jacinto High School where he played football as a tight end. He recorded 76 tackles, 7 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries, 19 receptions, and 298 yards during his time as a senior.
Irving then received a scholarship from Iowa State University. He finished his college recording 44 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception, 8 passes defensed and 3 blocks kick in 32 games.
Irving’s Professional Career
Irving was signed by Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in the 2015 NFL Draft. On September 29, 2015, he was signed by the Dallas Cowboys from the Chiefs practice squad. He was mainly used as a backup defensive tackle in limited opportunities.
One of the finest performances by Irving came on October 16, 2016, in a 30-16 win against Green Bay Packers where he forced three fumbles, recovering one, had a sack and batted down a pass. He was also named NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Legal Problems
On May 23, 2017, Irving was suspended for four games due to violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy. On June 15, 2018, Irving was again suspended for the first four games of the season due to violating the NFL’s policy on substances of abuse.
Recently, on March 1, 2019, he was indefinitely suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. A couple of days later, he announced that he is ready to quit football because he was opposed to NFL’s drug policy. He considered retirement while he was taking marijuana.

He was once in a relationship with a girl named Angela Sanchez. They were in an on-off relationship for seven years before they eventually called it over. She said their relationship couldn’t work and also accused David of being a master manipulator. However, the couple has one daughter together.
